of beds of roses and time

life can certainly be likened to a bed of roses. sometimes.
everything goes smoothly for you, without troubles and hiccups.
and naturally but unfortunately, it is impossible for anyone to simply stay in that state of ethereal ecstasy.

Forrest said, "life is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you get."
indeed, life is supposed to be filled with unknowns and unexpected events. things that come along may not always work to your advantage or liking, but that's life. its supposed to be filled with ups and downs.

recently, i had a friend who had the most unfortunate thing happening to him. it was tragic, and i was barely able to cheer him. but he's fine already and for that i'm thankful to God. My prayers shall stay with him for the next week. i hardly pray nowadays, so i figured this is a jolly time to start again.

life's like a box of chocolate, you never know what you get. but, if you trust the person who brought you that box of chocolate, then you'll be in for a pleasant surprise.
God breathed life into man. He brought me my box of chocolates. I'm pretty sure He brought me my favorite chocolates (that would be caramel-flavored and dark chocs).
Be encouraged all who are weary and heavy-laden. He's got tonnes of your fav chocs. ;)

Say "say say say".

DOMO!!! Okayy, guess who's back!

Yea people, I'm alive and kicking and I've very recently found my muse for blogging. She's none other than my very lovely gal, jocey (or otherwise known to other peeps as joc, jocelyn, josserlyn, jawmon or that gal with the really big eyes, nice legs and great smile). Say say say.

Alright. To my blog topic proper now.
I would like to write about the fading popularity of the uber-cool, Mr. 'Hardo-Gay'.
Yes, it's true. The hard gay fad is dying and that kinda upsets me. Woah, before you jump to any conclusions about my sexuality, I'm as straight as that hard-gay guy who's straight and married and pretending to be gay in order to rake in big fat paychecks. Guys, he is a genius. He saw a need in the market for lame crazy ideas and he exploited it thoroughly. It's beyond belief. Who would have the world would subscribe to his very public and crazy gay antics. I'm not gay-bashing or anything. It's just that even conservative societies like Singapore's have opened up to his gay-lobbying variety shows.

Just that other day at work in Sony Gallery Wisma Atria,

wei hong: .... i cant rem what he said.. its was something lame and crappy haha
mel: okayyy..(typical hardo-gay style response)

wei hong: Say say say!! Wa your Okayyy sounds just like hard gay's!
mel: yea i like this guy. he's funny.

wei hong: yea i like him too. i love the way we could use his responses against the ever persistent electronics consumers (namely the Indians who come from far far away just to seek discounts on electronics and upon finding a great price, refuse to purchase until at least another 50% discount is reached).
wei hong: before the customer can ask for discounts, put out your hand in front of their faces and say, "Say say say".

haha that was hilarious.

In any case, I would like to shout out a big Thank-you to all my friends who have been wishing me well. It's been a long time since I blogged and people must be wondering how I had been.
(I hope.)
I've accomplished a great deal this past sem and this past year. Got satisfactory results (they'll get better). SimDragons got our first silver medal in nothing less than the Regatta Men's Finals. Kudos to this really amazing team. The dedicated coach, captain and rowers made that happen. And we got our first overseas medal in the Penang Pesta. It was a bronze in the Mens finals as well. Now, surely, SIMdragons reputation is sealed as a solid 'real' team. No longer are we the 'bao-jia' in every race we compete in.

Also, I worked for a couple of Sony roadshows and got to know dozens of lovely people. From the lucky plaza roadshow I met Zep and Royston, the coolest dudes ever. Jerry, Ted and Wensheng were crazy company as well. Had a ball of a time with the rest as well, Rich and Derrick. The gals, Clara and Felicia were lovely, as always.
From the Wisma Atria roadshow, i got to know jack, jolene, stacy and the lovely santarinas! okayyy. they were emileen, jamie and trillia. amiable bunch of part-timers. also, my in-charge terence was a freaking awesome guy. he was a great supervisor and allowed us the max welfare we promoters were entitled to. oh, i think he's as lame as i am too. Though, the rest of the in-charge's and managers were quite anal, i must admit.

So i made some money and treated my gal to great times. This was my pleasure and my honour as nothing pleases my heart more than seeing her joyous and carefree.

The last year had been a great ride. By God's grace, this new year would be freaking awesome too.

ps. I can't wait to meet my Sim pals and check how they've been.
did jeff pass his driving test?
is gerald attached?
what happened to ivy's hair?
did val spend $5000 again on shopping this month?
what new moves has alex mastered on the dancefloor haha
did reubes meet any new meimeis?

Cheers to one and all. And to one and all, SAY SAY SAY!!
